I grew up on Long Island in a beautiful tourist town on the seaside. Over the years I saw a lot of greedy developers try to exploit the beauty of this area for gain and a lot of local residents who fight back to preserve the natural beauty. It's still one of the most beautiful places on earth but people had to fight hard to save it. Years later it's a never ending war between conservation and reckless "growth". Climate change is a huge factor considering the very real danger of the rising seas and the erosion eating away Long Island itself. I hope you'll remember this in your decision-making.
