My story is similar to many people out there in the world. It is, in part, a story of wanting to do what I know in my heart is right...to leave a decently intact world to the next generation. But it is also just simple, selfish survival. If I know that the pollution I cause may come back to haunt me or my loved ones with cancer-causing substances in the air we breathe or the water we drink, I am not going to go down that road. That is just self-destructive behavior. Sometimes I feel like the problems are too big, and my contribution to small. However, what keeps me going is when I see others around me making a difference. In those moments I feel inspired, and am reminded that I'm not working at this alone. Together with others in my church, I have intiated a Green Team to implement postive changes wthin the life of the church, (e.g., no more styrofoam cups, bike rack), and extending to church members in their home habits (informing church members about CFL bulbs, encouraging more recycling, etc.) Please help by keeping us going down the Green Road.
