A Taste of Green Apple

You did it! Thousands of you wrote, called, and sent cards to Steve Jobs, asking him to green your Apples. Because of you, he listened, and just announced a greener Apple.

Apple has agreed to peel toxic chemicals like Brominated Fire Retardants (BFRs) and Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), out of their product line by 2008. These are genuine steps forward.

But we want an Apple with more than a green skin, we want Apple to go green to the core. We want Apple to deliver a green product on the market, and to announce a worldwide recycling policy.

Take Action >> Thank Steve Jobs for his efforts, and ask him for more than a few slices. Ask for a whole green Apple.

I want to thank you for your recent announcement and the steps you�ve taken to make Apple greener. Apple's new commitment to environmental transparency and the phase out of the worst chemicals in its product range are genuine steps forward. I look forward to Apple going further to green your existing product range, to get non-toxic products on the market, and to announce a worldwide take-back and responsible reuse/recycling policies. I am enthusiastic about the changes Apple has announced, but I am looking for more -- an Apple that is not just green skin-deep, but green to the core.
