Cut Out Illegal Logging

A bipartisan bill – the Legal Timber Protection Act (H.R. 1497) – is now pending in the U.S. House of Representatives. The bill would put trees and plants under the protective umbrella of the time-tested Lacey Act that shields America from imports of illegal wildlife.

When passed, this landmark legislation will be the first serious safeguard against illegal wood imports in the U.S., benefiting forests, wildlife, communities and our climate.

Take Action >> Tell your Representative to co-sponsor the Legal Timber Protection Act and ensure it becomes law as soon as possible.

Step 2: Read the letter we've provided. Feel free to edit it.

Dear Representative,

"Sincerely," and your name and contact information will be added to the end of the letter.
