Protect Americans from Chemical Threats

An attack on one U.S. chemical plant could kill thousands of people, but despite the warnings, nothing has been done to prevent such a disaster. According to the EPA, there are about 100 chemical plants in the U.S. that each threaten a million or more people!

Fortunately, by using safer technologies we can dramatically reduce these risks and protect our communities. The chemical security bill (H.R. 5577) adopted by the House Homeland Security Committee would take advantage of safer technologies to address these risks. The bill would enhance security and protect against acts of terrorism to chemical facilities.

This bill deserves the support of all members of Congress. Take action and urge your Representative and Senators to get behind and vote for this bill. Congress has the power to pass a strong permanent law that will protect our communities. But, they need to hear from their constituents that this is an important issue! Take action today.

Step 2: Read the letter we've provided. Feel free to edit it.
