About me

| More

My name is Bilel and I'm 19 years old. I live in Tunisia. I've joined Greenpeace for the last three years. When I was too young, I watched some volunteering groups from Greenpeace on TV. I appreciated so much what they are doing and how they were sacrificing their lives to protect a planet which is in reality a wealth for all humanity, not only for them. At that time, I thought that such groups and organizations are just places for brave people but now I have a totally different idea. When I started learning how to surf on the net, I looked for Greenpeace website and I found it. I was very enthusiastic to do everything: I read articles in Cyberactivist community, I signed up to receive GP newsletter which was my gate to environmental care… As there is no Greenpeace office in my country, neither a local group near me, I have to put all my efforts in cyberactivism. I believe that I really can afford some help behind my keyboard as the current task is how to increase people awareness of environment’s problems and how to convince them to move in a positive way. Being a cyberactivist is not less exciting than working in the real world. It allow you to stay in touch and work in partnership with people whose you share principles. I cannot express my pride of being a cyberactivist but the day when I will get the occasion to join voluntary work, I will not miss this chance. As I'm also an a member of the International Fund for Animal Welfare and Rainforest Action Network, I try to do my best to protect the environment as well as to respect human rights. I really look for partners to work with because being alone can not change the situation but together we can make a difference. Since it was created, Greenpeace realized a big progress in the nature preservation and succeeded in most of its projects. But we still dream of a green, clean and peaceful world and we still have other projects to work on like Climat change, Nuclear weapons elimination, Whaling protection,... Actually, I do care especially about protecting Rainforests from illegal logging. That's why I appreciate so much the project of 'Forests Guardians' as it gives me the opportunity of taking a valuable role. The earth is the only place on which we can live, so I think that is the responsabilitiy of everyone to save it.

Peace for you all!
