Once, a very intelligent man stated:
"...I shall be telling this with a sigh
somewhere ages and ages hence
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and
I took the one less traveled by
And that has made all the difference."
Robert Frost wrote that poem, known as The Road Not Taken and when you take some time to think about it, it could be related to global warming. In the poem, it talks about a road or path someone took, and how he regrets it now because he took the easy way out. In global warming, the easy way out is to just do the same thing we're doing now- being gas guzzlers. So, if we take the easy way out in global warming, we'll be Robert Frost in this poem! So take this as a warning- the easy way out isn't going to help anyone. So take action, and think about what YOU'RE doing to help the environment! I know I am.
School is around the corner! Oh no! But, hey- school can also be a great way to change your image... for yourself and the earth. You can Start conserving energy, become a more eco-friendly person- you know what I mean?? Instead of driving to school, take a bike ride to school, or even walk. It'll be a contribute to global warming and you'll get some exercise in! If you're stepping out of a room, try to remember to turn those light's off. Want to be a friend to the animals? If you see a animal hurt or wounded this is YOUR chance!!! Help it. Nurse it back to health. All these examples are ways you can start being a better eco-friendly person... at the start of school!
I am adding to what another blogger wrote a couple days ago. A couple months ago, when I was in school, I was researching about saving animals. You know- save the pandas, elephants, and all that. I love doing that! Anyways, I came across a link that says "save the seals!". I clicked on it and boy- was I surprised about everything that was happening in the Canadian Seal Hunt! Seriously, there were videos of researchers filming these people, whacking and killing poor baby seals. I almost cried when I watched the video. They have information, research, everything you need to know about this terrible hunt. They also have a countdown of how many seals have been killed due to this hunt!!! I think now they have counted 215,000 seals killed or something. It's terrible, so my friend Kathleen, my other friends, and I petitioned against it! We got at least 300 signatures, and after that, we sent it to The Prime Minister of Canada! Nothing has changed, so I say we do all that we can to save the seals! The site that I went on had a petition, so if you'd like to save an unfortunate soul: please visit http://www.hsus.org/protect_seals.html. Help save the seals!!! Petition, hold rallies, anything we can do!!! Please take this into consideration.
When I think about how we could save our planet from Global Warming, I always think about how Americans have so much, and could help save Earth, but choose not to. I mean- we are very, very fortunate people, and could put our fortunateness to good works!! Recycling is one very simple way to help. All you have to do is seperate your plastics, alluminum and everything and deposite these goods to a recycling plant! It's as simple as that. I hope in the near future that people will pay more attention to mother nature, and just put a little time into creating a better environment. That's why I love, love, love Greenpeace and all the people that understand what I am saying! SAVE THE EARTH!!!
At my school, my friends started this club for environmental awareness. At first I thought it was nothing I really would like to do, but when I recently joined Greenpeace, I realized how interested I became in the earth and Mother Nature. Greenpeace opened a lot of doors open for me! And that's why I think it's such a fantabulous organziation!!!! I am trying to convince my friends that they should join Greenpeace at the moment, and I know that they will, at some point!

Hi, hello, hola, my name is Kate and I joined Greenpeace in June of '07! I love it here and it's so great chatting with people that are just like me- want to make a difference. When I get older, I'm hoping to be a marine biologist or I'd like to write for a magazine that is ALL for the environment! I'm really interested in making this environment a better place for everyone and every living thing. I mean- there is only one earth!!! That's why I am writing in this blog. To get people's attenion anout environment matters! In my blog, you'll find some posts about things that have come to my mind that need to be written down. Check it out! Thanks!!!
