Change IS GOOD!!!

earthworshiper Sometimes I wonder why people don't want to advance to more animal and eco-friendly products and more. I don't understand- change is sometimes for the better! For instance, many classes still do real dissecting on frogs and any other animal! Why can't teachers switch to doing VIRTUAL dissecting? It's just as good, you see exactly what you see when you really dissect something, AND your saving a life. Shouldn't teachers realize that switching to virtual dissecting is definitely for the better? I don't know, but I do know that it makes me angry when people want to stick to their animal-killing, global warming ways. Don't you agree???

I don't think most people even stop to consider whether the death or suffering they caused to animals is wrong, unless they actually see it happen (everyone has a negative reaction to seeing a dog beaten, for example). But yes, it's very frustrating when you talk to people about it and give them good arguments (which they have no response to) and they still show no sign of changing anything even in minor ways.

Most people just don't think about things, and don't care about issues that don't have a direct impact on their lives. Sad but true. Still, it's worth bringing the issues up with people as much as you can, because even if it has no effect most of the time, it will sink in for someone and will make a difference. I mean almost every vegetarian first had the issue brought to their attention by another vegetarian or by an activist. Rarely, if ever, do people just have an epiphany and change their lives without another person planting a seed.

Hi, hello, hola, my name is Kate and I joined Greenpeace in June of '07! I love it here and it's so great chatting with people that are just like me- want to make a difference. When I get older, I'm hoping to be a marine biologist or I'd like to write for a magazine that is ALL for the environment! I'm really interested in making this environment a better place for everyone and every living thing. I mean- there is only one earth!!! That's why I am writing in this blog. To get people's attenion anout environment matters!  In my blog, you'll find some posts about things that have come to my mind that need to be written down. Check it out! Thanks!!!
