Resolutions in 2008
Hey People!
We all know that 2008's going to rock right??? A whole new year, full of changes and fun! And since it's a whole new year-----it's time for resolutions! Personally, I'm not very sure of what to do about environment-friendly resolutions. SO- I'm asking all of you Greenpeace bloggers to add a comment and tell me what YOUR resolutions are to make 2008 a better place! That way, we'll all get ideas and opinions on resolutions. Thank you everybody!

Hi, hello, hola, my name is Kate and I joined Greenpeace in June of '07! I love it here and it's so great chatting with people that are just like me- want to make a difference. When I get older, I'm hoping to be a marine biologist or I'd like to write for a magazine that is ALL for the environment! I'm really interested in making this environment a better place for everyone and every living thing. I mean- there is only one earth!!! That's why I am writing in this blog. To get people's attenion anout environment matters! In my blog, you'll find some posts about things that have come to my mind that need to be written down. Check it out! Thanks!!!

I am also looking into getting a hybrid car sometime in the next year or two, but this is of course contingent on having the money and so the option isn't available to everyone.
Another resolution I took recently is to stop using products from Kimberley-Clark (look up Greenpeace's Kleercut campaign if you don't know the details) and to find out other companies that cut down ancient forests for their products and similarly boycott them, and encourage others to do the same.
I want to start using CLF lightbulbs to save energy/reduce output.
I am also the founding member of my school's Greenpeace chapter, and we are going to working on a number of projects this semester. Likely you've already done this, but you should find out if there's an environmental issues group in your area that you could participate in, and if there's not, you can start one. Greenpeace has lots of useful materials to help people get groups started and to help run campaigns.
