Greenpeace's Climate Crime Unit continue pursuit of the Koch Brothers

Out here in California, we’re quite proud of steps that our city and state governments have taken to address global warming, and the budding renewable energy economy that has come of a result of that. We like being a hub for the clean tech industry with over 500,000 jobs being created in clean-tech
in our state since our global warming legislation, AB 32, was passed in 2006.

What we don’t like is out of state oil companies and their billionaire owners meddling with our state politics for their own self-interest. And therefore, we do not support the dirty energy Proposition 23 that will be voted on this Nov 2nd that would suspend our climate change legislation and allow polluters to keep on polluting.

So, we took to the streets yesterday to track down two of the most notorious bankrollers of climate denial and some of the top funders of Prop 23; David and Charles Koch. We were tipped off about an event that one of the Koch Brothers front groups, Pacific Research Institute, was hosting in San Francisco. We did not want to miss out on the opportunity to track down the Kochs with our Climate Crime Unit and book them with all of their charges: Peddling dangerous fossil fuel addiction, Selling junk science, Attacking clean energy and fueling dangerous global warming.

The event took place at a local fancy hotel and where our Climate Crime team was able to deploy quite rapidly and fanned out in hopes of finding the Koch. We searched the busy neighborhood thoroughly, asking passer-bys, hotel workers and even attendees to the PRI luncheon about the whereabouts of David and Charles.

But it was all to no avail. The Koch brothers alluded Greenpeace’s Climate Crime unit once again and continue to spread climate lies far and wide. There is only a week left to the elections here in California and Prop 23 still remains a mystery to most voters. Help to defeat this dirty energy proposition by pledging to Vote No on 23 here. And keep an eye out for the Koch Brothers too while you at it….
