Saving the froggies
Today I got 150 people to sign a petition saying they would like an alternative to dissecting. I hung up flyers all over my school. I put stickers on the lockers and made speeches. I made a shirt that said cut class not frogs and wore it today. I also wrote a really good poem about animal rights:
I didn't ask you to stroke my hair.
I didn't ask to be taken from my home and locked in a cage for you to stare.
I don't want my fur and skin to be some thing that people wear.
If I could speak , I would make you aware.
I would make you think and maybe even care.
Just because I don't look or act like you, doesn't mean I shouldn't be treated fair.
I don't want my species to become extinct or rare.
Don't beat me.
Don't mistreat me.
I have feelings, too.
How would you feel if your hair was my rug and I wiped my feet on you.
I read it to my creative writing and english class. They really seemed to like it. This summer I plan to make a huge difference. I'm going to rise against. I will save the world!
