ALTER in Mobile

| More

We have recently moved to Chickasaw, Alabama. Ten miles north of Mobile. Yesterday, we were notified of a town meeting.  We went, unsure of the urgency that the flyer conveyed.  But, we found out that ALTER Auto Shredding Plant, the largest in the South is to be up and working, shortly in our backyard (so to speak).  It will be on property owned by the City of Mobile, located primarily in Chickasaw.  This will be located on wetlands and is surrounded by a historical, residential neighborhood.  There is also, a school nearby.  The city elders have had knowledge of this for over two years.  The local residents for about two months.  The runoff in the water will surely reach the Mobile Bay.  There seems to be no constraints on this enviromental nightmare.   The town has hired a lawyer but it seems everything is moving along without regard to the citizens or enviroment.  What to do?  Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
