I love humpbacks and the people who love them.   So I am heartbroken that the Killing Fleet has left port as of 11:30 pm 11/16/07 PST.

Ok People...so what are we really doing...? This Whale Trail is tracking the whales and every year there will be fewer to track and then there will be no more????   Are there really only TWO ships out there up against the whole Japanese Killing Fleet????   After all these years and the overwhelming public opinion against whaling including among the Japanese.....We should have our own FLEET? And is there only one ship that is actually INTERVENING and it is not A GreenPeace Ship???

So there are wars on land and wars in the sea...This is the war we have chosen to stop so what is the program???    Ideas welcome including from GP leadership.

PS.  When the campaign was really going in the 80's we CONCENTRATED our efforts on a sustained anti-whaling campaign....that led to the 1986 schedules and a reprieve for many whales especially the HUMPBACKS.    Now slowly that victory has been eroded each year as Japan purchased votes at the IWC with "foreign aid" and the US collaborated or turned a "blind eye".   We need to concentrate efforts again---Focus on this grave problem before we lose any chance of turning the Nishin Maru back.  Also, the fundraising is worthwhile but the amounts are way too small.  We should be fundraising for $5000 each not $500 for boats and crews...and not for documentation and observation without giving real help to the humpbacks....otherwise we are just bystanders on the flip side of the killing coin....
