You hear about it in the paper, on the T.V., and on the streets; the earth is melting and we are responsible for it. Im sure that many people can't enjoy there drive to work in the morning or sleep at night because of there guilt ridden conscience of what they have done to there mother earth, but let me ask you this; have any of you looked deep into the issue and checked both sides of the argument? Or have you only let green peace, All Gore, and the media tell you what to think with pictures of clear cuts and coal plants?

In the early 70's Time magazine published an article that stated that the world was getting colder as a result of using fossil fuels, and hear we are thirty years later and now we think that the world is getting warmer. Even in the 1920's there was a fear of climate change, this was back when almost everyone used a horse and buggy and just seeing a car or truck was something special even in the city. The New York Times even posted an article that said if we didn't end our dependence of fossil fuels soon, then there would be severe environmental consequences by the 1930's. Yet hear we are 70 years later still waiting for the ice caps to melt and every environmental dooms date being proven wrong.

Unless you have been living under a rock the past few years you have noticed a huge rise in gas prices that have finally peaked. You probably thought that we are running out of oil and you have gain a look on energy that before the crises you never had. Allot of people think today that Saudi Arabia is the last oil rich source that we have and that once there out of oil we have reached "peak oil" and are at the end of our pride, after all at four stinking dollars a gallon don't you think we would have used other sources of oil if we had them? In reality the "peak oil theory" still has a long way to go in the real world unlike on paper, in fact "peak oil" hasn't even happened in america yet. In the 40's 50's 60's and so on there was always some talk about "peak oil" on how a child born today wont have any gas when by the time they get there license, or how by 1970, 1980, or 1990 we will have run out, even in the 1920's running out of oil was an issue. However every time it seems oil will peak very soon the same thing happens; we find more. In the 1920's the only thing that was needed to solve the problem was to stop using only the oil that was coming out of when the wells couldn't hold any more and to start actual drilling in the wells. In the forty's and fifties it was just stop depending so much on Pennsylvania oil and switch more to "texas tea". In the 70's U.S. peak oil was officially declared, however this occurred at the same time as the arab oil embargo and only Americas known sources peaked, in-fact even thats debatable because production in Texas still continued to rise, the problem was it wasn't meeting the demand by itself without the help of arab oil. Even the claim of the U.S. holding only three percent of the world's oil is debatable, that three percent is only what's being used which is Texas and Pennsylvania. In shale oil we have three time's the reserves as saudi arabia, there are massive reserves of untapped oil in california and the midwest, oil was struck in South Dakota recently that contains twice the reserves of Saudi Arabia, the gulf of mexico has massive untapped reserves and the Atlantic of our cost has to potential to contain huge receivers of of shore oil. This is just in america alone, brazil increased its oil production from 10 million barrels to 80 million barrels with some minor oil exploration. So why aren't we drilling and buying oil from countess that don't even like us? The environmentalists put up a storm of red tape and protests about drilling in these areas because it can disturb the wild life. Drilling in Texas disturbs wild life, drilling in iraq causes war, why are we sacrificing energy independence just because it could disturb some fish and deer? The worst part about the green movement is that it has killed people, and not from protests. In the 70's pesticides like agent orange and deet where banned because they where bad for the environment, when these got banned world wide the price of food shot up and hundreds of thousands of people starved as a result. Environmentalists also want to raise the tax on fuel world wide and if this happens it will have the same result because people in third world country will have to pay more for fuel and not food.

Some of the most damning evidence against global warming is the fact that the earth has been cooling and warming on its own for millions of years, this is what environmentalists constantly try to prove wrong as an explanation but cant prove wrong. As I said before the earth is constantly going on a warming and cooling cycle and today are current climate fits in perfectly with the pattern, in-fact where in a relatively cool period right now compared to the past few million years. There has been an increase in temperature over the past few thousand years, but remember this warming trend started way before fossil fuels where discovered. What this can indicate however, is that we are heading towards an ice age because there has always been a period of warming before an ice age.

Some of the best evidence of natural climate change was the Medieval warming period. During that time of about one hundred years lasting from the 1300's to the 1400's, there was a period of intense warming in medieval Europe. During that time the temperate rose to the point where northern England could grow its own grapes instead of having to import them from Italy. This rise in temperature greatly increased the growing season in northern area's, however due to the huge drop in food demand from the black death, this warming period was more of a burden then a help because it resulted in a large shortage of water from drought. After not to long after the medieval warming period came what was known as the mini ice age in Europe. This indicates that the same series of events could be happening world wide now. However despite the fact the the temperature is rising sharply in Europe and other parts of the world, Places like china and the north and south poles have been dropping in temperature over the past few years so its hard to define what's been going on.

The green movement is for a false cause and its harming people by doing it. Even if global warming where true the amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere only %3 the result of fossil fuels, so one way or another we are doing nothing by going green, in-fact if the earths temperature rose a few degrees then in that would reduce frost and increase the growing season resulting in an agricultural boom. That still doesn't mean we should waste gas and water, we should conserve at a reasonable amount so there will be more for the next generation and, we will have more time to look into cheap alternate energy like hydrogen fuel or cars that can run on salt water.
