Cars, history, oil

Please correct me if i'm wrong, but if my memory serves me correctly then when hydrogen is introduced into an oxygen rich atmosphere and energy is added to the mix s violent reaction occurs in the form of combustion (as demonstrated by the Hindenburg). When the reaction ends the only thing that remains is water (H20). Could sucha reaction be taken and converted into a form of a hydrogen combustion engine? Obviously a much larger amount of hydrogen is  needed in such an engine, than gasoline in a regular combustion engine, and maybe a greater source of initial energy than a spark plug can provide. But hydrogen is an extremely light gas  (the lightest and most abundant anywhere) and can therefore more can be carried ad still weigh less than a tank of gasoline. Also it can be compressed to fit into a smaller volume. Ag for a stronger power source an extra battery or two can be put in. I realize that there is probally an enormous hole somewhere in this idea that i just haven't seen ye. of time but I felt that it had to be said just to clear up if it's possible or not.If it is possible then wouldn't it be cheaper than trying to totally reinvent the car.

Also I feel that i should mentiont that enviromentalism isn't a new fad it had been proposed as far backa as 1830's. If people are going to criticize Greenpeace then they should just look to the past even some of the Founding Fathers beleived that we should live a more natural life than mechanized one. I guess we should have listened to them.

An idea has recently popped into my head based on the lessons of the Founding Fathers it goes something like this;   Government doesn't listen to FF's greivances= BOYCOTTING. If we don't want to be dependant on foreign oil anymore then we should BOYCOTT IT.        However instead of dumping it all into Boston Harbor, I would suggest a more greener solution in that if a large fraction of the population absolutely refused to use oil for a specified amount of time the government and the oil companies will be forced to address OUR greivances.

Student at Spring Woods Senioir High

I grew up in arkansas but moved to texas when i was 11. i've always loved the outdoors and when I grow up i want to build a simple cabin where I can escape from the pressures and worries induced by modern society. My favorite autors are Henry David Thoreau and Carl Sagan. I'm a B or C average student and I'm fine with that. I just don't beleive in homework, if i did I would definetly be an A student. But through my life I've gained a more cynnical veiw of school and I've come to realize that it doesn'ty really matter what I do in school.I only write well when I'm interested in the subject other wise I rarely write at all. I also find many of the things my teachers try to force on dull and and don't beleive I will use much of it outside of school. Essentially I learned everything I consider to be important from the many books I've read or the few inspired teachers who understood the way I felt and met me halfway. I don't enjoy technology I dont own any videogames or even a computer. I go to the library to use one. My biggest dream is to learn to fly a Bi-plane and build my own dirigible. I hate organized sports like football or baseball. I'd much rather go hiking or mountain-biking.I beleive in the lost philophosy of Transcendentialism, I read about three books a week, and I only watch Animal planet and the science channel. If I have to get a job I'll either be a Pediatrician or sell vegetables and fruit on the side of the road.
