Wood burning furnaces

| More

We'd like some input on our problem.   We have done extensive research on outdoor woodburning furnaces and have recently purchase one of the best (Central Boiler).  They volunarily comply with EPA standards.  Our problem,a crotchety old neighbor who likes to complain about all the neighbors.  He has decided that he doesn't want us to have this furnace on the off chance that there might be some smoke that goes across the street and he'll have to smell it.  (The burner we bought produces almost no smoke at all).  We are using this burner in place of our oil burner (and coal stove).    The neighbor went down to the town council (very small town) and complained and now they want to pass an ordinance banning these furnaces.  We do not cut down any live trees only use deadwood and whatever people would like to give us as these furnaces can burn wood indoor stoves cannot.  We'd like some information if anyone has any regarding using these stoves and the emissions from them as opposed to ride on lawnmowers, leaf blowers, fertilizers, and the smoke coming out of the chimneys of the people who have wood burners in their homes.  (I figure if I'm outside and can smell the smoke, it must be emitting something).  Also, any info regarding the woodburners as non-fossil fuel and therefore not contributing to the global warming.  Any help would be really appreciated, as there are quite a few people in town who are interested in getting away from oil and using these types of furnaces, and so far we are the only family in town to have one.  Please help with any info you can.  Thanks all.

We live in a small town in PA.
