Get real

I live in Northern Indiana, and about a year ago, my husband and I got serious about recycling, saving energy, not driving, etc. It is so unfortunate that it took so long, although for the past several years we did a little, not enough, but it also doesn't help when parents don't teach their kids the importance of taking care of mother earth. Like ours. Now, I can not stand to see people throw recycables away, drive when they can walk, etc. I have become very passionate about protecting our earth, and it angers me when I see people that don't care. I am trying to find ways to show people, but it is so freakin hard. It seems like no one around here understands how IMPORTANT IT IS! We live in a perfect area, we are 2 miles from my husbands work, and a 2 minute walk from everything else, school, store, gas stations, everything! It's great. So, now that it has gotten warm enough out again, we have started walking again. It is so beautiful! I actually make a pact with myself, if I'm going to the store, and I'm going to spend less than the price of a gallon of gas, JUST WALK! My problem is that, I am so tired of people driving their "nice" cars looking at us like we're poor, lol. If they only knew. In the mornings, when I walk our son to school, I get looks as if I am just crazy and poor and etc. I have a bumper sticker that says "Save the Earth!" I'll almost tempted to stick it to my butt so these people will quit just assuming stuff. But oh well I say, if they have nothing better to do, I pity them! Get Real!
