I'm sorry, but the fact that the average age of our decision makers in the US are in their 70s does not make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. How can we have a sound foreign policy when there is a generation AND a cultural gap?
That's why this story both made me happy and sad.
I hate to be an agist - I do love older folks, but c'mon! We need open and flexible minds in todays positions of power and the further away from 40 you become the more difficult it is to be flexible - in every way. Yes they carry wisdom and knowledge that most people aren't privvy to... but they aren't typically a hot bed of new ideas which is what the world needs now.
