Greetings!
I would like to participate in the discussion of Our Planets' Oceans and the ways in which we could reduce the amounts of damageing wastes. It's not the Boats fault! It's just mother natures way of keeping us busy!
First and foremost* One of the largest areas of concern is the amounts of oils, gases, and other chemicals from ships and land drainage systems.
The best way that we could help protect the aquatic wildlife and maintain a good ocean ecosystem, would be to "dredge" the ocean. Even if we did small areas at a time*
What I mean by dredgeing is to sort of comb through the ocean itself. By the use of energy efficient tools or water-safe electrical nets which would capture the oils and chemicals in the water. Or what about a filtration system at the main ports?
This in turn would be helpful for the seafood and fish which a lot of people consume. Clean Water means Cleaner Air, land and healthier people.
Thanks- Sara
