Hi...I'm doing a report on gun control for school. (of course, i'm on the pro side, as in i think it should be regulated) If anyone has any suggestions, such as websites or statistics, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

This is just something I learned a few days ago..it's interesting.

Well, hemp (yes, it is the plant that marijuana is made of) can make, in addition to pot, paper & clothes. SO, if the growing of hemp could be legalized, the rainforest could stop being chopped down. (well, not completely, b/c McDonald's is also clearing the land to make room for their cows)

Not that i'm advocating marijuana, (beacause, you know, it's illegal) but did you know that 1) it has no long-tem health effects on your body and 2) you can't get physically addicted to it? Yeah.  The only problem is that its illegal, as i mentioned before.  And apparantly, if youre underage & caught w/ pot, even if you're not driving or even using it, you can get your license taken away & expelled. (this just happened to my mom's friend's son like last week)

anyway, i just thought the hemp thing was interesting.  It's something to think about.

THIS IS IMPORTANT....READ THIS!!

Okay, i know many of us here @ Greenpeace probably shop at the Body Shop..their products are all-natural and not animal-tested.  They have to be good, right?

Wrong.  It turns out that the Body Shop awarded $300,000 to "the National Committee for the Defense of the Rights of the Internationally Displaced," an anti-Semitic group that promotes the "right to return" of "palestinian refugees" to Israel. It was nominated from this award by a group called BADIL, which helps promote terrorism against Israel.  When you purchase anything from the Body Shop, you are helping promote these goals.

This was the official statement they made:

OPEN QUOTE - From Israel - National Committee for the Defence of the Rights of the Internally Displaced is a self-help and advocacy advisory service, and a network for all community-based organisations campaigning for the right of return of internally displaced Palestinians. - CLOSE QUOTE.

This was another quote regarding this situation, on israelinsider.com. It pretty much sums everything up.  Here it is:

What The Body Shop is doing: is participating, aiding, abetting, and financing a war against the Jewish State; and by extension - the Jewish people.

I know, it's pretty unbelievable.  But at the same time, it's not.  Who's to say that the "animal-rights,all-natural" wasn't - isn't - just a cover up?

I just wanted to make this known. A purchase from the Body Shop could lead to the death of innocent Israeli children. Shop wisely.

I saw a picture of Bush's smarmy oil-drilling face in the paper today, and it inspired me to start a list of why I hate Bush.  Feel free to add on to it if you like.

1. The War in Iraq. (Of course.)  It's humiliating and disgusting. Bush started the war b/c he wanted oil.  No other reason.

2.  His support of oil-drilling earth-ruining oil companies, so people like him and his dumb buddies can drive their SUV's.

3.  His lack of charisma.  In fact, he can be downright insulting, which makes America (even the Americans that HATE him) look stupid, at best.

4.  His IQ of about 80.

5.  His prejudice toward anyone who is not a white right -wing Christian republican males (but seriously, it's not like i have a problem w/ Christianity in general. i just don't like that bush only represents right-wing christians, and shouldn't a good leader represent everyone?)

7. The way he can't string a sentance together. ALL of the other leaders of FOREIGN countries speak English better than he does, and do you think English is the prime minister of Japan's first language? Yet he speaks (English) a thousand times better than Bush!

8.  His annoying daughters/wife/mother.  Just looking at a picture of any of those women can put me in a bad mood.

9.  the fact alone that he used to own an oil company

10.  his gross predjudice toward gays.  i go to an art school, so a lot of my friends are gay, & they're usually really nice people. i think it's totally not up to Bush to decide how they live their lives, even if it doesn't confirm to his screwed-up sense of "morality"

11.  He's completely pro-business, which i hate, especially when i'm on a "Large-corporations-like-McDonald's-and-wal-mart-are-evil" kick

12. Remember his slow response to Hurricane Katrina & 9/11?

13. in my opinion, he should be doing more to help find peace in the Middle East

14.  he's a hunter.  he goes out and shoots innocent, defenseless animals for fun.  what does that say about him?

I could go on forever. but i left room so if u want to add anything, go ahead & write it in the "comments" section.  let's try 2 get to 100!  (hell, we could probably do it in a week!)
