Seems our friends to north have found a new way fuel your car: animal waste.

"We're using animal waste to reduce greenhouse gas emissions," said marketing director Ron Wardrop of Rothsay, which runs the plant.

At full capacity, the Rothsay plant will produce 35 million liters (9.2 million U.S. gallons) of biodiesel a year, the greenhouse gas equivalent of removing 16,000 light trucks or 22,000 cars from the roads"

These ideas are not new. Renewable / low emission energy sources were supposed to be the way people powered their cars. Unfortunately gas won out in the early days because it was cheaper. Now we know just how expensive gas is - it cost lives, it destroys the environments, it creates endless war.

My husband and I just converted our Mercedes diesel to run on 100% vegetable oil. It's low emissions and we can get free oil from the local restaurants. It's the only way to travel!
