Global Warming, Viaj's Guide To Stop It
Ok, It may be too late to stop global warming. Saddening, but I've done the research, it's frightening but true.
Of course, I'd like to believe there's still something we can do to stop it. I can't force anyone to do anything to stop this looming chaos, but hey, I can give suggestions. So here's my guide (I'd normally say it's me "_ _ step guide to: something", but I don't know how long this will go on for) to stopping global warming:
1. Plain and simple. Stop.Driving.SUVs. How many times must people be told? They are bad. I did some thinking today and realized exactly what is wrong with us. People in America are stubborn. We like driving our horrible polluting vehicles. That's what's wrong with us. That's it. I never said I'd tell you how to change, only that I know the problem. It's up to Americans to fix it. Unfortuneately, we probably WON'T fix it. Ever. American's are just too stupid, so stupid in fact, that they're willing to essentially die because of it. But hey, that's the whole "The fittest shall survive thing". And let me tell you this. We are far from mentally fit. Oh, and we're not in the best physical shape either =\
2. Stop brushing it off like it's no big deal. There are people who don't care, in fact, there are those who'd welcome it. Why? They don't like it cold. Oh no. Cold. Dear ficticious god, save us all. The cold. It's not like we haven't endured COLD WEATHER for thousands of years or anything. It's not like we should be used to it. Oh wait, yeah it is. So basically, people don't like it being cold, so they decide to allow the earth to...heat......up.....um...wow. Ok, see, here's the problem. While people don't like it when it's cold, people also don't like it when it's hot. In fact, we can't live if it gets too hot. Uh oh. What happens when it's too late? What happens when it's so hot that you can no longer sustain life? Well, at that point it, everyone will be dead. Oops, can't enjoy the warm weather I guess D=
3. Stop putting it off. "Oh, well...We'll worry about it in a few years." No, worry about it now so that it doesn't become a problem. Wouldn't that make more sense? Why let it do damage if we can prevent it? If you had cancer and you KNEW you had cancer, would you just sit there while it amasses into a problem and say "Oh, it's not a problem YET, so I'll just wait until it's threatening my life and there's a chance I won't make it.", or would you say "OH SHIT, I NEED TO GET THIS FIXED PRONTO." I'd guess the second. So why is it different for this? I mean, in both cases, YOU could die. And neither will be painless. In fact, dying from over heating would probably be much much worse in some cases.
4. Petition your state politicians to propose legislation that would prevent the emission of green house gasses in your state. Up taxes for SUV drivers. Give tax breaks to those who drive environment friendly cars.
5. Buy a hybrid. Get rid of that gas guzzler and start conserving. If you keep putting it off, nothing will ever change.
6. Stop driving sports cars. I know, it's hard, we love luxury, and we love fast cars, but fast cars don't really matter if you aren't alive to drive them. I'm not saying get rid of your corvette. Keep it, but maybe for your next car, opt for a gas saver. Or perhaps buy another cheaper, more fuel efficent car, like a small japanese car. Chances are if you can afford a sports car, you can afford another car. You could also just not drive these cars at all. That'd make the most sense. Let's face it, with the imposed speed limits, what purpose do these cars serve? You aren't a race car drive and guess what, you never will be. Sure, once in a while you have an open road with no cops around, leaving you to gun it. How often does this chance come up? Not often enough to justify the price tags on these cars. Some people are under the influence that cars that aren't SUVs instantly have better gas mileage. Wrong. In most cases, these sports cars get even worse mileage. Think, these cars often have V10 engines in them. That's a ridiculous amount of power for one person. It's time to stop living in the "I'm a racecar drive!" fantasy, and come back to earth.
7. And last, DO SOMETHING YOURSELF. I don't care what it is, just do something. Remember when greenpeace activists chained themselves to the assembly line at a Range Rover plant in the U.K? Do something like that. You don't even have to go to a factory, hit the local intersection and chain up to a person's car. Yeah, someone elses car. Why have anything sympathy for them? Don't worry about damaging their car, THEY'RE damaging YOUR health. If you were in a fight, you wouldn't just sit there letting the other person beat you down would you? No, of course not, that's stupid. So why would you let them pollute your lungs with their toxic SUV emissions? You shouldn't. Go out there and do something. Don't worry about the law, anyone with a brain should see that you're trying to help the environment. It shouldn't be YOU in jail, it should be the politicians who allow the toxic beasts to prowl our streets.
peace.

random_nigga38 on February 23, 2006 You say in your mini profile that you are against nuclear energy. Are you aware that this technology is MUCH cleaner for the environment and will slow global warming? I just really don't know what you're thinking. Maybe you can explain.
