OUR VANISHING PLANET

Global warming. Melting ice-caps. Drowning polar bears. Exxon/Mobile oil spills. ANWAR. Agro-chemical poisoning of little kids in their small school-house in Oregon. Out-of-control nuclear power industry guarded by a bunch of old-time thugs called Wackenhut. War. Blackwater. More war. No civil rights. No human rights. Water as a commodity to be bought, sold and traded on the Stock Market. No whaling of any kind. Anywhere. Democrats. Republicans. Greens. Environmentalists. Tree huggers. Maritime terriorists. Religious fundamentalists. Muslims. Illigitament Presidents. Vice Presidents. Mr. Mugabe of Zimbabwe. Gitmo. "Extradonary rendition" or CIA kidnaping. The Bush Regime. Carbon dioxide emmissions. China. Columbia and the "so called: drug wars. Etc., etc. And on...and on...yak...yak...

Ever wonder why this crap is fed to us via sattellite every day of our lives?

It's to keep you busy, worried, occupied so as not to notice the real threat to our constitutional freedoms, not allow us the time to think through an issue, but to be overwhelmed by the bullshit of the day and leave us empty, devoid of a comprehensive plan to omit some of these horrors that will occupy our time in the near and far future. In my neck of the woods, we are undergoing a colonization by Texas transplants that were placed here during the Bush Regime. They are easily recognized by their big white trucks, huge horse trailors, cowboy hats, and a pickup loaded with plastic tanks of deadly pesticides. They play with these deadly chemicals, as if daring nature to cross them and receive a quick dose of lethal. And their horses...god luv'um. They seem to fill some unknown altruism for the horsey set that validates their existence, since their sense of being is so shallow. Their oil money has bought all arable land in the Rio Abajo and it is slowly being transformed into alfalfa plantations, tourist attractions (Bosque del Apache Wildlife Refuge, Herkenhoff's Indian Hill Wildfowl Management Area, and Sevellita National Wildlife Refuge, just to name a few)  where once chile or corn fields provided much of the foods to the locals and were sold at market at Santa Fe or Albuquerque. Our bottom-lands are disappearing and there will be no sign of the wide "bosque" by the time our childrern are grown. We are losing our productive food-lands to wealthy people, made wealthy by crooked anministration and their pals, California Dreamin', bringing our valley lands to ruin.

Through all this, I try to bring some positivism to the scene, since I am aware that many other places on the globe are in worse condition than we are. Just look at the mess in Darfur, in Somalia, Zimbabwe, Niger, Uganda, Afghanistan, Iraq, and many other critical human habitats. We are in no need of world wars at this time. Climate and time, itself, will eliminate many of the horrors we now face. It's how we stand up and face the tidal wave of over-population that will determine our future world configuration.

Does anyone out there see what I see? Please respond. Pro or con...no le hace. What is to be done...?
