As a PhD Ecologist and organic agriculturalist  here in the beautiful Middle Rio Grande Valley, I sometimes feel rather small and alone in my uphill fight against all the troubles I see ahead of us in these waning months of what has been one of the bleakest eight years  perhaps since the Holocaust, but maybe since the collapse of the Roman Empire. Global warming, drowning polar bears, melting icecaps, floods, extinctions, wars, death to ecosystems and wildlife, thugs, who would lead us to death, politicians of smug, small minds,  earth-haters, who have caused death, soaring costs for fuel and foods, starvation world-wide, I must admit my horror.

America is no longer the hegemon, however most citizens continue to hide behind patriotism, nationalism, and silly politicians believing what is easiest for them. America is not united.  It is an illusion. A "slight of hand" so that a mere three hundred thousand  families and corporations in the US can control the destinies of over three hundred million people if not billions,  who have no vote. Most Americans say: "Why should we care about other countries?"  America is a herd leaping from it's highest peaks to the ocean floor.  How many of you own the house you live in and can grow your food on your own soil? How many of you own your own means of production? Are you a steward of the land at the Bosque del Apache? where you can watch the wildlife death? State Representative Don Tripp (R) Socorro, NM, (running for re-election), Sevilleta Wildlife Refuge, Gordon Herkenhoff of Indian Hill Waterfowl Management Area are all Stewards!! and they are all dying. Tripp not only owns part of the Bosque del Apache, he is a "farmer", a jeweler, a "slaver" and owner of a "sweat-shop." In truth, he is a small, uneducated fat, little man that some might feel for, but in the end he is a blob, who wants to own the world. Poor man, he had a chance, but should now be gone.

This politician just wants land... or land and slaves, just wants to RULE? He is a dancer, a liar,  just another ride in the jellyfish water of life. We should be sad for you Tripp, sad for you Dave Love, sad for your Gina's, but you live inside your own lies, knowing so little about the environment that you just walk on ahead, while the earth dies. Retire. as you are all breathing the air belonging to some small child, you are bathing in waters too clean for any of you. May you swim with the fishes though! Why don't you stop wanting to be something that you are not, and look up, look up for your lives are short and you have forgotten what you even wanted in the beginning. So, so, fly, dive, dance until the lights go out. Ignorance....Ignorance...abide. 

Don Tripp, you poison politician, your days are coming to an end. Hence, "your flag decal won't get you into heaven anymore," sang John Prine in his song about the Viet Nam War.  Just keep waving the flag Donny Boy...Your drug of choice is more potent than meth, crack heroin or coke. It is GREED, greed for something that you will never get!
