Our new report Carbon Scam investigates how American Electric Power, BP and Pacificorp all investors in the Noel Kempff Climate Action Project in Bolivia, are using the forest protection project to try and sidestep their way out of reducing the greenhouse gas emissions from their operations. ]]>

But, for some people, Earth Day is the one day each year that they really think about the serious environmental challenges facing our planet.

That's why we decided to take to the streets of Chicago -- President Obama's hometown -- on this special day and transform a Michigan Avenue bridge into a bold statement about the future. You've already seen the results.

The message was pretty simple: Imagine clean energy now. And it's not a fantasy either. If you’ve checked out Greenpeace’s Energy [R]evolution report then you know that we really can stop the worst effects of global warming if we act now. But it’s going to take all of us, working together and building a movement, to make it happen.

Can you imagine a clean energy future? If so, then please take a minute to add your name to the petition below. You'll be joining a movement of people ready to take action and rescue the climate.

<![CDATA[Tell Procter & Gamble that you're not the one cutting down forests]]> http://usactions.greenpeace.org/action/start.php?action_id=236 After nearly five years of Greenpeace's "Kleercut" campaign, Kimberly-Clark has agreed to stop wiping away ancient forests for disposable products. This is an enormous win for the North American Boreal Forest and all of the wolves, bears, caribou, and songbirds that call the forest home.

However, our work is not done. Tissue giants Procter & Gamble and Georgia Pacific have not committed to protecting ancient forests. Kimberly-Clark has proven that big companies can become big leaders in the battle to save our planet from environmental destruction, it’s time others follow suit. ]]> Thu, 26 Feb 2009 22:30:02 +0000 <![CDATA[Tell Brazil "No" to Amazon deforestation]]> http://usactions.greenpeace.org/action/start.php?action_id=224 Wed, 19 Nov 2008 20:36:57 +0000 <![CDATA[Urge the EPA to take action on global warming]]> http://usactions.greenpeace.org/action/start.php?action_id=219 Thu, 13 Nov 2008 23:14:03 +0000 <![CDATA[Tell the Senate to Get Tough on Chemical Security]]> http://usactions.greenpeace.org/action/start.php?action_id=120 Tell your Senators to put the safety and security of the American people above partisan politics and chemical industry lobbyists.
