Overview:

The Greenpeace Semester is an environmental training program for young adults who are driven to make real, positive change in their communities and on their campuses. The Semester gives participants the skills needed to organize and advocate for the environment -- from volunteer recruitment to understanding how to use media to talk about an issue, participants leave the program well-prepared to make a difference. 

In addition to learning from environmental activists and issue experts, participants also get the chance to:

  • Travel
  • Network with Greenpeace staff, interns and Semester alumni
  • Gain valuable work experience

2013 Semester (12 weeks):

Tuition: $4200

Immerse yourself in environmental activism for an entire semester. This term includes three weeks of travel. Course credit is usually available for Semester completion.

Spring:          January 28 - April 19
Fall:               September 16 - December 13 

Fall application deadlines:

Priority:     July 1

Final:        August 7

Greenpeace offers a shorter version of the Semester twice every summer. At five weeks total, the Greenpeace Summer training is an accelerated program with one week of travel and four weeks of intensive workshops.   

2013 Greenpeace Summer (5 weeks):

 Tuition: $2200

Summer 1:    May 20 - June 21
Summer 2:    July 8 - August 9

Summer application deadlines: 

Priority for both summer terms:    March 18

Final Summer 1: April 19

Final Summer 2: June 7
